Robyn Rollston

Robyn Rollston has been drawing and painting all her life.

She won a scholarship to art school but opted to teach English instead, thus it was 38 years until she could really concentrate on her art. She did 3 years of visual arts at Cairns TAFE and since then has worked hard to develop the skills she needs, doing Artescape classes with Fu Hong, Don Waters and others.  She has also had some tuition from local artist Andrea Huelin who she greatly admires.

Robyn belongs to an urban sketching group which meets weekly.  She is part of a group of artists who meet weekly to paint portraits and is also part of a life drawing group.

She has done some modelling and sculpture, but mainly concentrates on painting in acrylics. She paints on commission, mainly portraits. Her paintings are edgy; subjects range from steam punk skulls to weird dolls, mannequins and scary clowns.

Robyn's work is exhibited at the Artists@work Studio & Gallery.
