Galleries
Two Cairns Art Society galleries in Cairns offer a wonderful variety of artworks by more than 80 of its 130-odd members.
Both galleries are open seven days a week. Visitors can enjoy the art and meet the artists.
CAS Gallery at DFO
DFO Shopping Centre, Mulgrave Road, Westcourt (near Coles)
Located at one of Cairns's inner shopping centres, the CAS Gallery at DFO features quality original art by many local artists, from paintings to sculpture and glassware, all for sale.
Many of these artists also have prints and cards for sale.
Also on show is the monthly Feature Artist exhibition, featuring a body of work by a member.
Member artists run the gallery, and help guide visitors learn about the artworks and the artists.
To find out more, or become an exhibiting artist, contact the co-ordinator Janice O'Neill via the Contacts page.

Artists@work Studio & Gallery
29 Sheridan Street, Cairns
(opposite Rusty's Market)
This artists collaborative has a gallery, artists' studio and teaching spaces in the large "purple place" opposite Rusty's Market food court in the Cairns CBD.
Run by around 15 CAS members at any time, Artists@work is a busy hub that operates seven days a week, where artists work, exhibit, show visitors around the gallery, teach, and do commissioned works.
Two window exhibitions each month showcase members' work, and non-members can also hire these spaces to exhibit for a month.
Master printer Yvonne Hering teaches traditional Japanese woodblock making and printing on Saturday mornings, and other members run periodic workshops. Non -members can also hire space for classes.
A@W can always accomodate new artists looking to work in a welcoming, lively and collaborative space.
