CAIRNS ARTescape has established a reputation for offering some of Australia’s leading art tutors and this year is no exception. This is ARTescape’s 7th year and coincidently, we are presenting seven new tutors and introducing one new medium – an encaustic workshop. A number of past popular tutors, including Archibald Prize finalist Fu Hong, and Garry Duncan will be returning again. ARTescape 2012 will bring together a considerable volume of talent and experience, each tutor being nationally or internationally recognised in their field.
The Tanks Arts Centre is a unique venue. Once WW2 fuel storage facilities, they have been converted into open studio and gallery space, ideal for workshops. Adjacent to the Botanical Gardens and Centenary Lakes Precinct, it’s a wonderful location to be creative and inspired!
ARTescape is a five-day program of concentrated workshops, endorsing fundamental techniques whilst encouraging freedom of expression to challenge and build upon your individual artistic style. Interstate and overseas artists can escape the winter and spend 5 days learning their tutor’s best kept secrets and tips in our perfectly mild climate of the tropics.
